Boise Multi-Use Pathways

Project Details

  • Delivery Method | General Contractor
  • Location | Boise, ID

This project constructed nearly a half-mile concrete pathway with handrails and retaining walls through a narrow downtown Boise corridor. Approximately 600 feet of the work paralleled an active canal with geothermal tributaries, requiring careful sequencing and protective measures to maintain continuous canal operations amid Boise River fluctuations and geothermal flows. Construction proceeded within a highly constrained corridor adjacent to an active power transfer station, necessitating phased pours, temporary stabilization, limited staging, and short work segments to ensure safety, quality, and schedule control. Despite these challenges, the completed pathway now provides a continuous pedestrian and bicycle connection between Grove Street and Broadway, revealing historic infrastructure and enhancing multimodal access through one of Boise’s most infrastructure-dense environments.
